    God Reveals in Saints What

    We Know About God Is

God Reveals in Saints (Part 7) ✍What we know about God is the extent to which He revealed Himself to our fathers.   Our forefathers, the prophets, prophesied that the Son of God would be born, and our forefathers, the evangelists and apostles, said, "He was born, he was baptized, he died, he was buried, he rose, he ascended" and they told us the good news. If the prophets prophesy, it is as much as God spoke to them, if the evangelists and apostles tell us what happened from the birth to the ascension, it is what they saw with their eyes, what they touched with their hands, what God the Son revealed to them about Himself.   The revelation of God does not stop with the passage of time. He has been revealed to the prophets, to the apostles, and to all the righteous martyrs during their lifetime. He will be revealed to and through the saints now and in the future. And when our holy fathers and mothers said goodbye to this world at the end, God revealed the way in their lives and passed it on to us.   To praise God saying "the God of our fathers" is a great praise. Because we know God through them. We can only know God to the extent that He has revealed Himself to His saints. We cannot go beyond this, nor do we have the right. In fact, as much as God revealed Himself to our holy fathers, we have a duty to believe only what they told us about Him. We can never know or research beyond what they have revealed to us. But if we say let's ignore it or go astray from it, the outcome is to be cursed with an ignorant mind. "All that can be known about God is clear from Him. His invisible nature, which is His eternal power and His divinity, is known and clearly seen from the creation of the world. Therefore, knowing God, those who did not honor and praise Him according to His divinity lost their excuses. They became deaf when they said.. As much as they did not like to know God, God gave them over to a senseless mind to do what they should not do," said the apostle. Romans 1-19-28.   ✍To Speak about Saints, it is Necessary to Believe in the Gospel First.   Believing in the gospel does not mean saying "I believed and I am saved". First, it is necessary to believe every word of the gospel as true. It is absolutely necessary to believe in every word of what Christ has said and to put it into practice. If a person believes in the gospel he heard, but not faithful to the holy word and cannot live a Christian life, he cannot say that he believes in the gospel. Therefore, before talking about the saints, we must first believe and fulfill every word that our Lord spoke in the Gospel. So what did our Lord say about the saints in the Holy Gospel? We will see next.   It is important to remember the words of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in his Gospel. The words He spoke are: "He who receives the righteous in the name of the righteous shall receive the reward of the righteous." Whoever gives one of these little ones a cold cup of water in the name of a disciple, I tell you the truth, his price will not be lost" (Matthew 10:38-423). If we do not believe and do what Christ said, then we do not believe in Christ himself and in the gospel. The issue is not knowing or not knowing about the saints, but knowing Christ himself and believing his word and doing it.   (To be Continued) Source ፦ ከገድላት አንደበት                 አዘጋጅ ገብረ ሥላሴ                 1997 May the name of the Holy God be praised forever and ever in every language that He has created, today and always. May the blessings of the Holy Mother of God, the Virgin, and the Cross be upon us.
