    Fasting Fasting Is Reconciliation With

    God Adam Was Reconciled With

About Fasting (part 3) Fasting is reconciliation with God Adam was reconciled with his Creator through fasting and prayer after he was expelled from Paradise for his transgression. Even after Adam, many people have had their sins forgiven by the power of fasting and prayer, they have been saved from their illnesses, they have received forgiveness and mercy from their Creator, and their lives have been extended. Moses received the tablets (the ark) containing the Ten Commandments after fasting for forty days and forty nights (Exodus 34:28, Deuteronomy 9:9-12). Joshua, who led the people of Israel for 40 years, stopped the sun in Gibeon and distributed the inheritance to the Israelites by fasting. Nehemiah, Ezra, Samuel, and Esther, who reconciled with God by begging for their people and the people of Nineveh for their wrongdoings through fasting, also used this method. Fasting was one of the ways in which the saints reconciled with God while they were on earth. It should not be surprising if someone who says that they do not accept fasting also says, "Saints do not intercede." Fasting enhances the vitality of the soul During fasting, Christians increase their energy and strength. This is much more than physical strength. Those who started practicing yoga outside of Christianity's teachings had "fasting" as their first rule to gain the energy of the soul. So, how can we Christians who call on God with absolute faith not have more power and strength? When Saint Jared explained the benefits of fasting, so that the soul can be cleansed from all the diseases of sin, he said, "Fasting heals the wounds of the soul and silences all the desires of the flesh." Fasting makes us strive for spiritual works A person who is fasting has the ability to connect themselves with the Creator and do other important things better than ever before. Fasting is useful for understanding the feelings of hungry people, extending hands to those in need, offering complete prostration, and doing other acts of charity. A humble mind and abstinence from sin will be fruitful during our fasting. And if our fasting is not accompanied by these works, it will be lacking. Another thing is that the holy fathers and mothers we know in the history of the church taught deep and spiritual lessons during fasting. Fasting without prayer, fasting without almsgiving, and fasting without prostration is like food without salt and a river without liquid water. The book says, "Prayer is good with fasting, almsgiving, and righteousness" (Tobit 12:8). We may appear spiritual because we fast, but the enemy does not want to see us receive all these blessings, so he keeps us away from the fasting system. Therefore, when Satan grumbles in your stomach to break the fast, do not break bread or drink water for him. Because every time Satan finds a small gap, he licks it like a snake and expands it, racing to break down our spiritual fence. Fasting helps to maintain the health of the body During fasting, the parts of our body related to digesting food, such as the stomach, intestines, and gall bladder, get rest. The more food we eat, the harder it is for these and other organs to digest food and deliver nutrients to our body parts. This leads to diabetes and related health problems. But a healthy person will have a healthy and light body. This helps them perform religious rituals easily and do their work without difficulty. May the name of the Holy God be praised forever and ever in every language that He has created, today and always. May the blessings of the Holy Mother of God, the Virgin, and the Cross be upon us. Amen. © John's Repentance Follow our Telegram group every day and share it with your friends: https://t.me/orthodoxQnAs
