✍🏾After this, the king built two churches at Debre Bisrat, and he also built two additional churches on its right side.
👉🏾 He named the first church “Seyf Atra” . This name was given because, when the construction of the church began, the king saw Saint Ura’el, together with the angels of fire and Our Lady, the Holy Virgin Mary, purifying the place with fiery swords carried in their wings.
👉🏾 He named the second church “Ed Atra” . After this, the king continued to build many other churches, according to the guidance of God.
✍🏾 When Ede Mariam, the son of King Zera Yacob, became king, he also built a church in the name of Saint Ura’el. He granted forty acres of land to the church as a memorial for the annual feast of the Archangel.
✍🏾 The Church was named “Mis'ale Maryam.” This king followed in the righteous footsteps of his father and continued to build churches. The works of the Nine Holy Fathers, together with the deeds of the Orthodox kings from King Yekuno Amlak to King Iyasu, and the steadfastness of their true faith, are recorded in the Book of Ura’el.
All of us who are Christians should commemorate the feast of this guardian Archangel, Saint Ura’el, who protects us from all evil, from enemies who come openly and secretly, and who delivers us from this passing world, which fades like a shadow and a desert flower.
✍🏾Through the grace of the Father, and at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, born of the Holy Virgin Mary, we are saved from eternal death through the prayers and intercession of Saint Ura’el.
✍🏾 In these times, when the world is filled with distress, suffering, and confusion, those who live in it can endure only through the intercession of the saints.
✍🏾 Many people cannot move freely, cannot live in peace, and cannot rest securely. Because of this, the prayers of the saints become a support for us, helping us not to lose hope, not to stray from the true path, and not to fall into spiritual darkness.
✍🏾 To avoid evil and to keep from falling into sin, we must fight the enemy who tempts us. Since our spiritual weapons are prayer, fasting, and worship, we need the intercession of the saints in all these struggles, and we must call upon them with diligence and faith.
May the name of the Holy God be praised forever and ever in every tongue that He has created, today and always.
May the blessings of God's mother, the virgin, and the cross be upon us.
Amen.
