๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿพ#Asteryo #Mariyam (#Tir 21) Dear followers of the Orthodox teachings on John's Repentance website .we greet you with the peace of the Lord.Today , based on the topic mentioned above, we present to you the following important lesson. We encourage everyone to read it carefully and learn from it. During the season of Asteryo , the Church celebrates the great revelation of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, through which the mystery of the Holy Trinity was made known. However, although the Virgin Mary is inseparably united with the mystery of Christโ€™s incarnation, the Church does celebrate her feast during this season as โ€œAsteryo Mary.โ€ Each feast in the Church is honored according to its own spiritual meaning and appointed time. โœ๐Ÿพ The Departure and Glory of the Holy Virgin Mary Our Mother of God, the Holy Virgin Mary, lived on this earth in holiness and obedience, bearing suffering and pain for the sake of humanityโ€™s salvation. After completing her earthly life, she rested in glory according to the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Though she died in the flesh, she was honored by God, and like her Son, she was raised in glory. According to the tradition of the Church, this took place in the holy month of Nehase. โœ๐Ÿพ The Life of the Holy Virgin Mary The Holy Virgin Mary lived: ๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿพ3 years with her parents, ๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿพ12 years in the Temple, ๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿพ33 years and 3 months with her beloved Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, ๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿพ15 years under the care of the holy Evangelist Saint John after the Ascension of our Lord. Thus, she lived a total of 64 years in this world in purity and holiness. โœ๐ŸพHer Repose The Holy Virgin Mary passed away on Tir 21/ 49 A.D after completing her life in holiness and obedience to God. โœ๐Ÿพ Why the Church Celebrates This Feast All Christians are called to celebrate this holy feast, because our Holy Orthodox Tewahedo Church, guided by the Holy Spirit, has established an orderly and spiritual tradition for us. The Ascension (Repose) of the Holy Virgin Mary is a feast celebrated by the faithful, and in Ethiopia, as well as throughout the entire Orthodox Tewahedo world, it is observed with great reverence, joy, and devotion. โœ๐Ÿพ The Meaning of the Celebration We do not celebrate this feast merely to remember the passing of our Lady, the Holy Virgin Mary. Rather, we celebrate it with hope in her intercession, trusting in her prayers and motherly care. As we remember her holy repose, we ask that our Mother, the Holy Virgin Mary, may remember her country Ethiopia, and through her prayers may God grant peace, love, unity, and stability to her people. May she also intercede for us before her Son, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, for the forgiveness of our sins and the salvation of our souls. May the name of the Holy God be praised forever and ever in every tongue that He has created, today and always. May the blessings of God's mother, the virgin, and the cross be upon us. Amen. ยฉ John's Repentance Reach out to us on our social media platforms and share it with your friends:https://linktr.ee/johnsrepentance
