👉🏾👉🏾👉🏾The Feast of #Cana of #Galilee(#Tir 12) Dear followers of the Orthodox teachings on John's Repentance website .we greet you with the peace of the Lord.Today , based on the topic mentioned above, we present to you the following important lesson. We encourage everyone to read it carefully and learn from it. ✍🏾The Feast of Cana of Galilee is one of the nine minor feasts of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. It is celebrated on Tir 12. ✍🏾Originally, this feast was to be celebrated on Yekatit 23. However, since Yekatit falls during a fasting season, the Fathers of the Church, guided by wisdom, named it “The Feast of Water with Water” and transferred its celebration to Tir 12. The Holy Gospel according to Saint John says: 👉🏾“On the third day there was a wedding in Cana of Galilee.”(John 2:1) It continues: “The mother of Jesus was there. Jesus also was invited to the wedding with His disciples.” ✍🏾From this , we understand that the Holy Virgin Mary was present first at the wedding. After the Mother was present, the Son was invited, and after Him, His disciples were also invited with Him.During the wedding, when the wine ran out, the Holy Virgin Mary said to Him, “They have no wine.” Our Lord Jesus Christ replied to her, saying: 👉🏾“What have I to do with you? My time has not yet come.” 👉🏾This exchange reveals a deep spiritual mystery, showing both the intercession of the Holy Virgin Mary and the divine wisdom of our Lord Jesus Christ, who would reveal His glory at the appointed time. When We Enter into the Mystery What Is Meant by “The Third Day”? Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ was baptized on Tir 11. Immediately after His baptism, He went into the wilderness, where He fasted for forty days and forty nights. His fast ended on Yekatit 20, and on Yekatit 23, Scripture says: “On the third day there was a wedding.”(John 2:1)This “third day” does not refer only to a number of days, but to a spiritual age. ✍🏾The Meaning of the Three Days 👉🏾The first day refers to the time of the Patriarchs, when Adam, Abraham, and Isaac were the fathers of God’s people(Zemene Abew). 👉🏾The second day refers to the time of the Law (Torah), when Moses was the father and guide of Israel.(zemene Orit) 👉🏾The third day refers to the time when our Lord Jesus Christ became man, fulfilling the Law and the Prophets. ✍🏾It was during this third time, the age of grace and incarnation, that the wedding at Cana of Galilee took place. 👉🏾“Our Lady Was Before” When it is said, “Our Lady was before,” this means that the Holy Virgin Mary preceded our Lord Jesus Christ in His physical manifestation. ✍🏾Saint John the Baptist was born six months before Christ, and his mother Elizabeth conceived before the Virgin Mary gave birth. ✍🏾For this reason, to speak of the Child without knowing the Mother becomes difficult and incomplete. ✍🏾If one speaks of Jesus Christ without knowing the Holy Virgin Mary, who was chosen and prepared before His incarnation, the understanding of salvation becomes weak and incomplete. Even today, before calling upon the name of Jesus, the Church teaches us to approach Him through His Mother as our intercessor. 👉🏾The Place of the Virgin Mary in SalvationWhen we reflect on salvation: We must first bring the Holy Virgin Mary to our mind. The beginning of the mystery of the Incarnation through Mary is the foundation of the doctrine of salvation. Our Lord was born, lived in exile, taught, was crucified, died, rose from the dead, ascended into heaven, and will come again in the flesh He took from the Virgin Mary. From this, we understand why the Church honors her first, without separating her from her Son. Continues 👇🏾
