    The Five Servants of the

    Liturgy

Continued 👇🏾 Number of servants in the Holy Liturgy ✍🏾The Holy Liturgy is often celebrated with five servants , symbolizing the five pillars of the holy mysteries. However, it may also be celebrated with other numbers, each carrying spiritual meaning: 👉🏾Seven represent the seven mysteries (sacraments) of the Church 👉🏾Thirteen represent the twelve Apostles and Our Lord 👉🏾Twenty-four represent the twenty-four heavenly priests 👉🏾At minimum, the Holy Liturgy may be consecrated by one priest and one deacon, representing the union of divinity and humanity. Three represent the Holy Trinity Four represent the four Evangelists If there are fewer than two ministers, even if there is only one person, the Holy Liturgy must not be consecrated , as this is forbidden by the canons of the Church. ✍🏾The Call to Prayer (“Pray”) “Pray” is a liturgical command within the Holy Liturgy. It is proclaimed thirteen times, and four times during the third part of the Liturgy. 👉🏾When the deacon proclaims “Pray,” he turns his face toward the people and calls them to prayer. 👉🏾If there is a special offering, the appropriate prayer is said in its place. 👉🏾If there is no offering, the deacon proclaims “Abune Ze Besemayat,” and the people repeat the Lord’s Prayer. For example: When the deacon says, “Pray for the people who give gifts to the Church,” the prayer “Abune ZeBesemaat” is not repeated at that time. This is because this proclamation has its own specific prayer. The supplication “Pray for the people who give gifts to the Church” itself becomes the prayer and replaces Abune ZeBesemaat. 👉🏾 When Drget is lowered, and the deacon proclaims, “Tseliyu be entiane” the faithful are commanded to pray the 150th Psalm of David. In this section, the command to pray refers specifically to Psalm 150, and not to Abune ZeBesemaat. ✍🏾 When we Christians celebrate the Holy Liturgy: 👉🏾 Forgiveness of sins is granted, because repentance is offered with a contrite conscience. 👉🏾 Blessings are received in both soul and body. 👉🏾 Prayers are heard before God. 👉🏾We participate directly in the blessings of the angels, and when the faithful receive the Holy Eucharist into their bodies, they receive eternal blessing and life. Part 9 Continues ... May the name of the Holy God be praised forever and ever in every tongue that He has created, today and always. May the blessings of God's mother, the virgin, and the cross be upon us. Amen. © John's Repentance Reach out to us on our social media platforms and share it with your friends:https://linktr.ee/johnsrepentance
