Continued 👇🏾 ✍🏾 In another place in the Gospel, our Lord clearly taught that humility is the secret of greatness, saying: “Whoever desires to become great among you shall be your servant. And whoever of you desires to be first shall be slave of all. For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many.”(Mark 10:43–45) He also said: “The greatest among you must become like the youngest, and the one who leads like the one who serves. For who is greater, the one who sits at the table or the one who serves? Is it not the one who sits at the table? Yet I am among you as the One who serves.”(Luke 22:26–27) These words show that greatness in the Kingdom of God is not measured by position or honor, but by humble service.Christ’s Poverty as the Model of Humility ✍🏾 The Apostle Saint Paul also teaches this truth, saying: “Though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, that you through His poverty might become rich.”(2 Corinthians 8:9) Therefore, when our Lord says, “If you know these things and do them, you are blessed,” He teaches that Christian life and ministry must be carried out in humility. Knowing the teaching is not enough. The blessing comes only when humility is practiced. Just as Christ humbled Himself and washed the feet of His disciples, so must we humble ourselves, serve others, and teach through the example of our lives. A Warning Against False Humility ✍🏾Preaching humility while placing oneself above others, seeking honor, fame, or superiority, is hypocrisy. Such false service was common among the Pharisees.For this reason, our Lord strongly taught that serving in humility, especially in lowly and hidden ways, is the true foundation of Christian life and spiritual ministry.True humility is not spoken.It is lived. part 46 Continues ...
