👉🏾👉🏾👉🏾Lesson on #Abune #Gebre #Menfes #Qidus (#Tahsas 5) Dear followers of the Orthodox teachings on John's Repentance website .we greet you with the peace of the Lord. Today, based on the topic mentioned above, we present to you the following important lesson. We encourage everyone to read it carefully and learn from it. ✍🏾 His Birth and Early Life Abune Gebre Menfes Qidus was born in the land of Nehisa (Egypt). His father’s name was Simeon, and his mother’s name was Aklesia. They lived without children for thirty years and grieved greatly. One day, Aklesia entered the temple of God, fell before the Holy Trinity, and prayed with tears, asking God to grant her a son whose glory would surpass earthly honor and belong to heaven. God accepted her prayer. She conceived on Megabit 29 and gave birth on Tahsas 29. At the moment of his birth, the child stood up and glorified God, saying: “Glory to the Father, glory to the Son, and glory to the Holy Spirit, who has come into the world as the Light of the world.” From his infancy, Abune Gebre Menfes Qidus lived an angelic life. He did not depend on or eat earthly food or drink but lived in constant thanksgiving to God. ✍🏾 Monastic Life and Gifts When he was three years old, Saint Gabriel the Archangel, by the command of God and with the blessing of the Holy Virgin Mary and the saints, took him to a monastery and placed him at its gate. The abbot of the monastery, Abba Zemdebirhan, found the child, raised him with care, taught him the Scriptures, and clothed him in the monastic habit. God granted him the gift of healing, and through his prayers, thousands of blind people were healed in a single day. When bishops and priests heard of his holiness and came to honor him, Saint Gabriel carried them by his wings and presented them before the Lord, revealing the greatness of Abune Gebre Menfes Qidus in heaven. Later, when the bishops and priests heard of his holiness and came to collect tax from him, Saint Gabriel the Archangel carried them by his wings and presented them before the Lord. The Lord revealed to them that many souls would be saved from death and from hell through the spiritual labor of Abune Gebre Menfes Qidus. Then the Lord commanded him, saying: “Go into the wilderness and separate yourself from people. Let your dwelling be among sixty lions and sixty wild tigers.” Abune Gebre Menfes Qidus replied with humility, saying, “My Lord, what will these creatures eat?” The Lord answered him, “Let them eat the dust upon which you tread, and it shall be their food.” According to the command of God, Abune Gebre Menfes Qidus went into the wilderness and lived peacefully among the wild animals, and they obeyed him in gentleness. Just as the lions submitted to the Prophet Daniel by the power of God, so too the wild animals humbled themselves before the servant of God. They licked the dust sanctified by his footsteps, as though it were nourishment given by heaven. ✍🏾 Intercession for Sinners After thirty years of this , the Lord appeared to Abune Gebre Menfes Qidus in a divine vision, revealing Himself in three forms, and said to him, “What do you ask of Me?” Abune Gebre Menfes Qidus replied, “First, let me pray for the people of the land of Gebota, that You may have mercy upon them.” The Lord accepted his prayer and, by his intercession, three thousand sinners were delivered from hell and brought into Paradise.
