✍🏾King Solomon
1 Kings 3; 1 Kings 9:1–5
Solomon went to Gibeon, the chief high place, and offered a thousand burnt offerings on the altar.
In the night the Lord appeared to Solomon in a dream and said,
“What shall I give you?”
Solomon answered,
“You have shown great mercy to Your servant David my father, because he walked before You in truth, righteousness, and uprightness of heart. You have continued this mercy by giving him a son to sit on his throne this day. And now, O Lord my God, You have made Your servant king in place of David my father, and I am but a little child; I do not know how to go out or come in.
Your servant is among Your chosen people, a great people too numerous to count.
Therefore give Your servant an understanding heart to judge Your people, to discern between good and evil. For who is able to judge this great people of Yours?”
Solomon’s request pleased the Lord.
After Solomon had completed the house of the Lord, the king’s house, and all that he desired, the Lord appeared to him again as He had appeared at Gibeon and said,
“I have heard your prayer and your supplication. I have consecrated this house which you have built, to put My name there forever; My eyes and My heart will be there always.
If you walk before Me with integrity of heart and uprightness, as David your father walked, and keep My commandments and My statutes, then I will establish the throne of your kingdom over Israel forever, as I promised David, saying, ‘You shall not lack a man on the throne of Israel.’”
God blessed him and confirmed the covenant with him.

May the name of the Holy God be praised forever and ever in every tongue that He has created, today and always.
May the blessings of God's mother, the virgin, and the cross be upon us.
Amen.
