    In Jesus Christ as Saint

John the Evangelist Teaches No One Has

Continued 👇🏾 ✍🏾In Jesus Christ 👉🏾 As Saint John the Evangelist teaches, “No one has ever seen God; the only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, He has declared Him” (John 1:18). Humanity has not seen the Father in His divine nature. Yet God revealed Himself fully through His Son, Jesus Christ. ✍🏾When Philip said, “Lord, show us the Father, and it is enough for us,” Christ answered, “Have I been with you so long, Philip, and you still do not know me? He who has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, ‘Show us the Father?’ Do you not believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me?” (John 14:8-11). His words reveal His perfect unity with the Father. This is why the Church teaches that in seeing Jesus Christ, we have seen God. He is the natural Son, equal in divinity with the Father. ✍🏾The Apostle Saint Paul further confirms this truth: “He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. For by Him all things were created, visible and invisible… all things were created through Him and for Him” (Colossians 1:15-16). Through Christ, the invisible God becomes visible, not in essence, but in revelation. ✍🏾Saint Peter also testified: “Not to all the people, but to us who were chosen by God as witnesses, who ate and drank with Him after He rose from the dead” (Acts 10:41). The apostles saw Him with their eyes, walked with Him, touched Him, listened to His voice, and held His teachings in their hearts. They shared meals with Him even after His resurrection. We also share in this reality. Though we have not seen His earthly body as they did, we receive His holy flesh and precious blood in the Divine Liturgy. Through this mystery, we unite ourselves to Him and to the faith of those first witnesses. ✍🏾In What He Has Done for Us We see God in our hearts when we recognize His works in our lives. When we understand with humility that every blessing, every mercy, and every guidance we receive is not from our own strength but from God, His presence becomes clear in our inner sight. 👉🏾David, filled with awe at God’s goodness, proclaimed, “Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the man who trusts in Him” (Psalm 34:8). The goodness of God is something the heart experiences, not just the mind. 👉🏾Solomon likewise taught, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths” (Proverbs 3:5-6). When the heart recognizes God as the one who guides every step, it begins to see Him. Isaiah comforted God’s people with the words: “Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with the right hand of My righteousness” (Isaiah 41:10). Every moment of help in our lives is another way God reveals Himself. Jeremiah declared God’s loving intention toward us: “I know the thoughts that I think toward you, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope” (Jeremiah 29:11). His plans for us are another sign of His presence. ✍🏾Saint Paul taught that we come to know this goodness through inner renewal: “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good, acceptable, and perfect will of God” (Romans 12:2). As our minds and hearts are renewed, we begin to understand His will and recognize His works in our lives. ✍🏾In knowing what He has done for us, in trusting His guidance, and in perceiving His mercy, we see God within our hearts. Part 32 Continues ... May the name of the Holy God be praised forever and ever in every tongue that He has created, today and always. May the blessings of God's mother, the virgin, and the cross be upon us.
