👉🏾👉🏾👉🏾“You Are #Misled by Not #Knowing the #Scriptures and the Power of God” (#Matthew 22:29) Dear followers of the Orthodox faith we greet you with the peace of God. Today we present to you an important teaching for your spiritual growth on the topic of "You are misled because you do not know the Scriptures nor the power of God.”(Matthew 22:29).May all who read and learn from it be strengthened in faith and understanding. ✍🏾 Our Lord Jesus Christ said to the Sadducees who denied the resurrection of the dead because they misunderstood the Scriptures 👉🏾“You are mistaken because you do not know the Scriptures or the power of God.” (Matthew 22:29) ✍🏾 The Holy Scriptures, together with the teachings of the blessed Fathers and holy scholars, unanimously praise the Virgin Mary as “The Mother of God,” “The Faithful One who gave birth to God,” and “The Mother of our nature.” ✍🏾Whoever truly understands the mystery of the Holy Scriptures will recognize that these praises reveal the divine wisdom through which the Lord accomplished our salvation. About the Glory of the Virgin Mary ✍🏾The pure apostolic Gospel that our Holy Church teaches especially concerning the Resurrection and Ascension of our Lord Jesus Christ, which restored the fallen nature of humanity reveals the goodness of God, the greatness of His gift to mankind, and the depth of His unsearchable grace. ✍🏾Those who lack understanding of the mystery of salvation, and who do not grasp the glory of the Virgin Mary, find it difficult to comprehend that she became the cause and instrument of our salvation the support and comfort of our nature. ✍🏾In their ignorance and pride, some belittle the saving role of our holy Mother, the Virgin Mary, and disregard her divine honor. Yet the Orthodox Tewahedo Church, founded upon apostolic faith, continuously glorifies her and remembers her intercession with gratitude and love. ✍🏾We understand that those who are ignorant of the doctrine of salvation and who do not recognize the glory of the Virgin Mary find it difficult to comprehend that she became the cause and instrument of our salvation. ✍🏾In their ignorance and arrogance, they belittle the holy mystery of our salvation, which was accomplished through the obedience of the Virgin Mary the foundation and support of our nature. ✍🏾On the other hand, they easily accept and understand how death entered the world through the disobedience of Eve, yet they fail to understand how life entered through the obedience of Mary. They are mistaken and deceived because they do not know the Holy Scriptures. ✍🏾However, our Orthodox Tewahedo Church, which has received the true faith handed down from the Holy Apostles, continually remembers and honors our Lady, the Virgin Mary, as the cause of our salvation in all her prayers and hymns. ✍🏾Just as death came into the world through Eve’s disobedience and transgression of the divine law, life and salvation came into the world through the obedience and faith of our Holy Mother, the Virgin Mary. Therefore, we give thanks to her as the support and foundation of our human nature. ✍🏾 If our people who struggle to understand the Word of God because they have not received it from a pure and living source would deeply meditate upon the central theme of the Holy Scriptures, which is “the support of our nature” (Christ born of the Virgin), they would surely return to the true faith and righteousness of our fathers.
