    The Tears of the Righteous

Many Holy Prophets Apostles and Saints Wept

Continued 👇🏾 ✍🏾The Tears of the Righteous Many holy prophets, apostles, and saints wept deeply over their sins and the sins of others. Even our Lord Jesus Christ wept for humanity. The Prophet Samuel grieved over King Saul because Saul disobeyed the command of God. The Scripture says: “The word of the Lord came to Samuel, saying, ‘I regret that I have made Saul king, for he has turned back from following Me and has not performed My commandments.’ And Samuel was distressed and cried out to the Lord all night.”(1 Samuel 15:10–11) When Samuel confronted Saul, he said: “Does the Lord delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices as much as in obeying the voice of the Lord? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to listen than the fat of rams. For rebellion is as the sin of divination, and stubbornness is as idolatry. Because you have rejected the word of the Lord, He has rejected you as king.” (1 Samuel 15:22–23) Saul’s repentance was not sincere, and therefore Samuel saw him no more. Yet the Scripture tells us: “Samuel mourned for Saul; and the Lord regretted that He had made Saul king over Israel.” (1 Samuel 15:35) Finally, the Lord said to Samuel: “How long will you mourn for Saul, since I have rejected him as king over Israel? Fill your horn with oil and go; I am sending you to Jesse the Bethlehemite, for I have provided Myself a king among his sons.”(1 Samuel 16:1) Thus, the kingship was taken from Saul and given to David, the son of Jesse. Conclusion Therefore, beloved, spiritual mourning is not hopeless sadness but holy repentance. The tears of the righteous cleanse the heart, humble the soul, and open the path to salvation. Those who mourn their sins with sincere hearts will indeed be comforted by the mercy of God, for His promise is true: “Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.” Part 6 Continues ... May the name of the Holy God be praised forever and ever in every tongue that He has created, today and always. May the blessings of God's mother, the virgin, and the cross be upon us.
