    Humility and Spiritual Service Spiritual

Service Is a Service of Humility

Continued 👇🏾 ✍🏾Humility and Spiritual Service Spiritual service is a service of humility. It is a service in which the servant humbles themselves and exalts God. A service is only truly valuable when it is offered with genuine humility. ✍🏾Our Lord Himself taught this lesson in practice. He washed the feet of His disciples, took up His garments, sat down, and said to them: “Do you understand what I have done to you? You call me Teacher and Lord, and rightly so. If I then, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet. I have given you an example, that you also should do as I have done to you. Truly, truly, I say to you, a servant is not greater than his master, nor a messenger greater than the one who sent him. If you know these things, blessed are you if you do them.” (John 13:12-17) Blessed, therefore, are those who not only understand humility but also practice it in their lives. Humility and Self-Revelation The humility most often mentioned in the Bible is spiritual humility, which guides righteous deeds. Humility is also important in physical work, but we must not confuse spiritual humility with self-revelation in physical knowledge and skills. ✍🏾 True humility is not self-deprecation. It is knowing ourselves accurately and giving glory to God and others rather than focusing on ourselves. It is not a lack of humility to describe our abilities and achievements truthfully, recognizing that God is our helper. However, we must be careful not to exaggerate beyond our knowledge or skills. ✍🏾 In a competitive world, presenting ourselves beyond our true ability is arrogance, not humility. Arrogance occurs when we see ourselves as superior to our own abilities and wisdom, and begin to regard others as inferior. This is why Solomon wisely wrote: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths. Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and turn away from evil.” (Proverbs 3:5-7) ✍🏾 Sincere humility is a life in which we: 👉🏾Trust that only God can accomplish everything 👉🏾Give priority and honor to others rather than our own desires 👉🏾Focus on spiritual service and the praise of God True humility is not about self-centered knowledge or confidence; it is about trusting God and placing others before ourselves. ✍🏾 True humility is also not pretended. We cannot imitate Christ if we merely claim humility with our words while hiding pride in our hearts. Pride leads to spiritual ruin, as with the devil, and without humility, there can be no Christianity or holiness. ✍🏾 The Gospel teaches humility through the lives of the saints. No one is justified except those who reject pride. Understanding this truth, we should treasure heartfelt humility in our lives. ✍🏾 Let us not pretend to be poor in spirit. Instead, we must walk humbly before God and also before all people, whether considered great or small by worldly standards. Part 5 Continues ... May the name of the Holy God be praised forever and ever in every tongue that He has created, today and always. May the blessings of God's mother, the virgin, and the cross be upon us.
