    Practical Pastoral Note What to

Do When You Hear or Sing It

Continued 👇🏾 Practical pastoral note (what to do when you hear or sing it) When you hear Hoya Hoye, receive it as prayer in sound: join as blessing, offer good will to your neighbors, and remember the Light of Christ revealed at Tabor. Teach children that the shout is not idle play but a sacramental cry: joy and prayer wrapped together. Sources and witness (for the faithful who like proof) Key studies and references that record and analyze the chant and Buhe practice include ethnographic research on Hoya Hoye/Buhe and general notes on Ethiopian liturgical music and Saint Yared’s influence. See especially ethnographic treatments of Buhe and the article-length studies of the song’s social and biblical resonances. My child, that is the plain truth from the Church’s tradition and from watchful scholars: Hoya Hoye is a sacred, jubilant vocable an ancient shout of blessing and praise rooted in the Buhe feast and the Ethiopian Christian way of making sound into prayer. May the Lord who was transfigured on Tabor illumine your heart, and may the Mother of God and all the saints intercede for you. May the name of the Holy God be praised forever and ever in every tongue that He has created, today and always. May the blessings of God's mother, the virgin, and the cross be upon us. Amen. © John's Repentance Reach out to us on our social media platforms and share it with your friends:https://linktr.ee/johnsrepentance
