The Mystery of Their Intercession
The angels stand before the throne of God to give thanks, to glorify Him, and to present the prayers of the faithful. As Saint John wrote in Revelation:
“And another angel came and stood at the altar, having a golden censer; and there was given unto him much incense, that he should offer it with the prayers of all saints upon the golden altar before the throne.” (Revelation 8:3)
This holy mystery reveals the angels as mediators of our prayers offering them with incense before God. Therefore, when Saint Gabriel said he “stands before God,” it was to reveal his sacred office as an intercessor who presents the prayers of the faithful continually.

May the name of the Holy God be praised forever and ever in every tongue that He has created, today and always.
May the blessings of God's mother, the virgin, and the cross be upon us.
Amen.
