Continued 👇🏾 Trials and Divine Patience ✍🏾The blessed Gebre Kirstos arose at night and stood before the image of Our Lady, praying: “My Lady, why have You revealed my hidden work? Now guide me to what is best for me.” ✍🏾Having said this, he took the image of Our Lady and departed at night, reaching the seaport. He intended to travel to another country and boarded a ship. But by the will of God, he returned to his father’s land. He lived at his father’s door for fifteen years. ✍🏾When the servants came in and went out, they would say, “Take this poor person away from us so that his stench will not bother us.” They would wash plates and pots and pour the water over him, and throw scraps of flesh for the dogs to eat. Yet the dogs licked his wounds, and thus his torment increased. ✍🏾Throughout this suffering, Gebre Kirstos prayed to God, saying: “Lord Jesus Christ, take me to Yourself, so that my father’s and mother’s servants may not be wronged.” ✍🏾In response, our Lord Jesus Christ, glorified be He, granted a covenant to all who call upon Gebre Kirstos’ name and keep his memory. Afterwards, he wrote his book from beginning to end, rested his hand upon it, and found peace. Death and Miracles ✍🏾On a Sunday, during the Liturgy, the people and priests heard a heavenly message revealing Saint Gebre Kirstos’ resting place in the house of Emperor Theodosius. When they found him, a scroll was in his hand, which could only be taken after prayer. His parents recognized him, and he was buried with great honor. His tomb became a site of miracles, healing all who sought God’s mercy through him. May the name of the Holy God be praised forever and ever in every tongue that He has created, today and always. May the blessings of God's mother, the virgin, and the cross be upon us. Amen. © John's Repentance Reach out to us on our social media platforms and share it with your friends:https://linktr.ee/johnsrepentance
