Divine Justice and Eternal Reward
👉🏾The Apostle Paul also taught deeply about righteousness, saying:
✍🏾"For by the works of the law no flesh shall be justified in His sight, for by the law comes the knowledge of sin. But now the righteousness of God, apart from the law, is revealed, being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets even the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ, to all and upon all who believe. For there is no difference: for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, whom God set forth to be a propitiation through faith in His blood, to demonstrate His righteousness because in His forbearance God had passed over the sins that were previously committed to demonstrate at the present time His righteousness, that He might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus." (Romans 3:20–26)
👉🏾Saint Paul explains that “justified by grace” does not mean that good works are unnecessary, as some may think. Rather, it means that salvation is a free gift of God, given through faith in Christ’s redemptive work. Since neither Jews nor Gentiles possessed works capable of justifying them before God, both were saved without distinction not by the works of the law, but through faith in the redeeming grace of Christ.
Our Lord Himself affirmed that righteousness must be lived out through faithful action. In His teaching about the final judgment, He said:
✍🏾"When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the angels with Him, then He will sit upon His glorious throne. All the nations will be gathered before Him, and He will separate them one from another, as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. He will set the sheep on His right hand, and the goats on His left. Then the King will say to those on His right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave Me food, I was thirsty and you gave Me drink, I was a stranger and you took Me in, I was naked and you clothed Me, I was sick and you visited Me, I was in prison and you came to Me.’ Then the righteous will answer Him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You drink?’” (Matthew 25:31–36)
This powerful passage shows clearly that righteousness is not achieved by faith alone, but also by Conduct . True righteousness is the living expression of faith through works that please God feeding the hungry, comforting the suffering, and serving others in love.
Conclusion
Therefore, beloved, take courage! Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake. Endure, suffer, labor, and persevere not for earthly gain, but for the heavenly kingdom, for eternal joy in Christ, for the honor of God, and for the glory of the Virgin Mother and the precious Cross.
