The Cross: The Banner of Freedom and the Emblem of the Faithful
Every kingdom on earth has its flag, but the Cross is the banner of heaven. To the world it appears as an emblem of suffering; to the faithful it is the sign of victory, freedom, and eternal life. Upon it, Christ conquered death and shattered the tyranny of the devil. It is the flag of liberty for every soul once enslaved by sin.
The Cross marks the Christian as belonging not to this world but to the Kingdom of God. To trace its sign upon our bodies is to confess both our allegiance and our hope. Just as the flag of a nation rallies its people, so the Cross gathers all believers under its shadow. It unites the saints of every age, the martyrs, the mothers, the pilgrims all who have borne its sign in faith and patience.
The Blessing of the Cross: Living Under Its Shadow
Blessed are they who understand the mystery of the Cross, for they abide in the dwelling of divine love. Whether they walk upon Calvary’s hill or dwell in distant lands, the grace of the Cross reaches them. To desire it, to honor it, to weep beneath its shadow this is to be present with Christ Himself.
Let us, then, take up the Cross not merely as ornament but as calling; not merely as memory but as power. For through it, wisdom descended, truth triumphed, and love reigned forever.
Part 13 Continues ...
May the name of the Holy God be praised forever and ever in every tongue that He has created, today and always.
May the blessings of God's mother, the virgin, and the cross be upon us.
Amen.
