šŸ‘‰šŸ¾šŸ‘‰šŸ¾šŸ‘‰šŸ¾What #Should We #Pray? (Part 10) Beloved in Christ, grace and peace to you. Prayer is the breath of the soul, the ladder that unites earth with heaven, the bond that ties the heart of man to the throne of God. If we neglect prayer, we starve the soul; if we cultivate it, we grow in communion with the Lord, with His saints, and with His holy angels. So then, the question is rightly asked: What should we pray? The holy tradition of the Church has not left us in darkness, but has handed down to us prayers filled with the Holy Spirit—prayers of the righteous, prayers of the saints, prayers from the very mouth of God Himself in the Holy Scriptures. Let us then look deeply at the treasures that have been placed in our hands. 1. The praise of Mary and Daily Prayers Daily Prayer Daily Praise of Mary Anqetse Birhan The Angels praise her (Ywedswa Melaekt ) Our Father 2. The Psalms The Psalms are all prayers. The daily schedule is as follows: Monday: Psalms 1–30 Tuesday: Psalms 31–60 Wednesday: Psalms 61–80 Thursday: Psalms 81–110 Friday: Psalms 111–130 Saturday: Psalms 131–150; Psalms of Solomon Sunday: Prophetic Prayers If it is not possible to pray all the daily psalms: Pray ten psalms each day. Special prayer: Psalm 118 (119):1–176. If even ten psalms are not possible, it is good to at least choose from the following: Psalm 6, Psalm 12 (13), Psalm 19 (20), Psalm 22 (23), Psalm 24 (25), Psalm 26 (27), Psalm 37 (38), Psalm 50 (51), Psalm 69 (70), Psalm 85 (86), Psalm 90 (91), Psalm 120 (121), Psalm 135 (136), Psalm 140 (141), Psalm 144 (145). 3. The Prayers of the Prophets The Praise of the Isrloooaelites (Exodus 15:1–19) The Prayer of Moses (Deuteronomy 32:1–43) The Prayer of Hannah, the Mother of Samuel (1 Samuel 1:10) The Prayer of Manasseh (2 Chronicles 33:12–13) The Prayer of Isaiah (Isaiah 26:1–21) The Prayer of King Hezekiah (Isaiah 38:10–20) The Prayer of Daniel (Daniel 9:4–19) The Prayer of Jonah (Jonah 2:3–11) The Prayer of the Three (Prayer Book) The Song of the Three Children (Prayer Book) The Prayer of Habakkuk (Habakkuk 3:1–19) The Prayer of the Virgin Mary (Luke 1:46–55) The Prayer of Zechariah (Luke 1:68–79) The Prayer of Simeon (Luke 2:29–32) āœ Note: The Prayer of Manasseh, the Prayer of the Three, and the Song of the Three Children are found in the prayer books, not in the Bible. 4. Daily Praise of God(Wudase amilak) There is daily praise, and the following psalms of David are prayed at the end of each day: Psalm 6, Psalm 24 (25), Psalm 37 (38), Psalm 50 (51), Psalm 69 (70), Psalm 85 (86), Psalm 120 (121). 5.
