Their Legacy and Example
O children of the New Israel! These men were not made great by birth, nor by status, nor by ease but by obedience to the heavenly call and by suffering for Christ. They became:
Foundations of the Church, upon which Christ built His house.
Lights of the World, who illumined the Gentiles.
Teachers of the Faith, who gave us epistles Peter with 2 letters and Paul with 14, together forming over 100 chapters of holy doctrine.
Let us, therefore, not boast in our heritage, our knowledge, or our standing, but let us boast in Christ, who can make of a fisherman a prince, and of a persecutor an apostle.
A Final Exhortation
On this holy feast of Hamle 5, let us not merely remember the saints but imitate them. Let us hold fast to the Orthodox doctrine they preserved, through blood and flame. Let us resist the corruption of this world and persevere in our holy confession.
For the Church is built not on ease, but on sacrifice.
The crown is not given to the swift, but to the faithful.
May the prayers of Saints Peter and Paul strengthen our walk, defend our faith, and guide us to the Kingdom.
May we, too, at the end of our race, be found worthy to say:
“Now there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness…” (2 Tim. 4:8)
may the name of the Holy God be praised forever and ever in every tongue that He has created, today and always.
May the blessings of God's mother, the virgin, and the cross be upon us.
Amen.
