    The Danger of False Teachers

and Empty Titles but Now Hear This

Continued👇🏾 The Danger of False Teachers and Empty Titles But now hear this solemn warning. There are many who, through ignorance and arrogance, have risen as false teachers. Some do so from the remote corners where the fountains of wisdom have dried. But others are more dangerous still those who dwell within the Church’s walls, who walk among the councils, yet teach another gospel, not of the Apostles. Like the Sadducees and Pharisees of old, they wear titles and garments of honor. They teach not from the depths of the Apostolic tradition but from the shallow wells of foreign seminaries Western and Eastern alike that do not know the power of God. They have become as the Lord said in Matthew 23, whitewashed tombs beautiful on the outside, but filled with the bones of corruption. They drape the Church with veils of cheap glory, distracting the faithful from the pearl within. They teach a simplified gospel, one pleasing to the ears and saleable to the masses. They choke the holy tradition with external ornaments, forgetting the inner fire. As a result, the faithful especially the simple and sincere are ensnared in confusion. They are diverted from contemplating the foundation of our character and fall into shallow debates and empty speech concerning intercession, resurrection, and ascension. These mysteries, which should lift the soul, are made objects of contention by those unfit to speak of them. Return to the Wellspring of Wisdom O beloved, let us not be misled. Let us not be deceived by the pomp of men nor confused by the empty applause of popular religion. Let us instead draw near to the living Church, which has kept the mystery intact through fire and flood. The foundation is Christ. The glory of His work is revealed through His Mother. The true character of man is restored in the obedience of the Virgin. The power of God is seen not only in the parting of seas or raising of the dead but in the lowly handmaid who gave birth to the Savior. If our people would open their eyes to the full message of the Scriptures, they would return to the faith of their fathers. They would see that the intercession of our Lady, the resurrection of Christ, and the ascension into glory are all parts of one divine drama, one river of salvation. Let them no longer be tossed by every wind of doctrine, but anchored in the Apostolic Church. A Final Admonition from the Fathers Our Father George once gave a closing admonition that we recall with reverence, a word which seems perfectly shaped for our present generation: Let not your mind be entangled with the cords of false teaching. Let it ascend instead to the contemplation of Christ, the Virgin, and the power of God revealed in the resurrection. Let the ignorant be taught. Let the proud be humbled. Let the faithful rejoice in the truth. May the name of the Holy God be praised forever and ever in every tongue that He has created, today and always. May the blessings of God's mother, the virgin, and the cross be upon us. Amen. © John's Repentance Reach out to us on our social media platforms and share it with your friends: https://linktr.ee/johnsrepentance
