In this, the Orthodox Tewahedo faith shines brighter than the sun, for it rests not on myth, but on the living Christ crucified, buried, risen, and ascended.
3. The Weak Were Strengthened
Peter, once afraid of a servant girl, trembling in shame, stood before three thousand and boldly declared the Lordship of Christ (Acts 2). Why? Because the Resurrected Lord had breathed on them, saying:
“Receive the Holy Spirit.” (John 20:22)
The same Spirit who raised Jesus from the dead now dwells in the faithful.
4. Truth Was Worth the Cost
The resurrection gave courage to pay the price for truth. Men do not die for lies. If Christ had not risen, Peter would not have been crucified upside-down; Paul would not have faced the Roman sword. The disciples would not have endured mockery, exile, and martyrdom.
They did not love their lives even unto death, for they had seen Him alive.
So also today, the resurrection calls us not to empty piety but to bold sacrifice. To follow Christ is to carry a cross, but it is also to rise in glory.
IV. A Call to This Generation
To a generation drowning in fear, where death’s shadow looms over every screen, every disease, and every war, the Church cries:
“CHRIST IS RISEN!”
Not as a slogan. Not as a seasonal chant. But as the bedrock of our joy and the seal of our salvation.
Let us not forget this holy truth. Let us preach it to our children, sing it in our homes, write it upon our hearts. Death is dead. The tomb is conquered. Christ has risen and we shall rise with Him.
Conclusion: A Cry of Triumph
Therefore, with the Apostle, let us mock death and say:
“O death, where is your sting?
O Sheol, where is your victory?”
(1 Corinthians 15:55)
Christ trampled down death by death. The grave is no longer a prison, but a gate. We do not weep as those without hope. We do not tremble before the grave.
For the Resurrection is not a doctrine only it is a Person.
And His name is Jesus Christ, the Son of God, who lives and reigns forever.
May the name of the Holy God be praised forever and ever in every tongue that He has created, today and always.
May the blessings of God's mother, the virgin, and the cross be upon us.
Amen.
