Continued πŸ‘†πŸ½ Moreover, it is a day to remember the mothers who, from the Passion to the Resurrection, offered countless tearful prayers. Their tears watered the ground around the Cross; their hopes shone in the darkness of the tomb. On this holy day: They exchanged their fear for fervent love; They anointed Christ with spices, symbols of their love; They journeyed to the tomb in prayer and expectation; They were granted the vision of angels and, above all, the foretaste of the Resurrection. Thus does Holy Church instruct us (Matthew 28:1-15; Mark 16:1-8; Luke 24:1-12; John 20:1-18). The Thirty-Six Holy Women The Holy Tradition teaches that thirty-six women closely followed the Lord during His earthly ministry. Half among them were active in serving Him personally in the places where He traveled and taught. These women, too, after Pentecost, received the Holy Spirit with the Apostles on Mount Zion, becoming radiant lamps in the spreading of the Gospel.
