    The Apostle Peter Assures Us

the Lord Is Not Slow About His

Continued 👆🏽 The Apostle Peter assures us: "The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but all to come to repentance." If He delays, it is not negligence, but mercy. He tarries so that we may awaken, so that we may repent before the final hour. But let us not mistake His patience for indifference, for the day of the Lord will come like a thief, and then the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat. The Day of Judgment On that day, all humanity, from the first man to the last, will stand before the throne of the Almighty. The righteous will be seated at His right hand, while the wicked will be placed at His left. And He will say to the faithful: "Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world." But to the unrighteous, He will declare: "Depart from Me, you cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels." Those who pierced Him will see Him. Those who persecuted the saints, those who mocked the righteous, those who thought themselves secure in their rebellion all will stand before the Judge. And those who suffered for His name, who were despised and rejected for the sake of truth, will be seated in honor, judging the nations. The Call to Vigilance Each year, as we commemorate the Feast of the Mount of Olives, we are reminded that our Lord will come again. The signs are before us; the warnings are clear. Shall we ignore them? Shall we live as if judgment will never come? No! The Lord Himself has commanded us to be alert, to pray without ceasing, to persevere, to remain steadfast in the faith. Who can give us better counsel than the Lord Himself? He came first in love, that we might not be ashamed when He comes again in judgment. He desires that we inherit eternal life, not condemnation. And so, the Apostle Peter exhorts us: "We are waiting for new heavens and a new earth, where righteousness dwells. Therefore, beloved, since you look for these things, be diligent to be found by Him in peace, without spot and blameless." The Urgency of Today "Today is not yesterday, nor tomorrow, nor even today, but the fundamental question remains: What will His coming mean for us?" Will it be eternal life or eternal punishment? Will we stand with the saints, or will we be cast away with the transgressors? The signs of His coming are upon us. The time of decision is now. Yet, instead of love, we sow division. Instead of unity, we entertain discord. We claim to be of the house of God, yet we drive away those who seek Him. We speak of faith, yet we are ruled by fear and deception. Let us examine our hearts. Let us repent while there is still time. Let us hold fast to His commandments, treasuring them as the pearl of great price. And when He comes, may we hear these blessed words: "Come, my Father’s blessing, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. May the name of the Holy God be praised forever and ever in every tongue that He has created, today and always. May the blessings of God's mother, the virgin, and the cross be upon us.
