Saint Ephrem reminds us that we were not born to eat from the tree of death but to partake of the Tree of Life, which is Christ Himself.
To refuse this gift, to turn away from the Eucharist, is to reject healing. It is to slap the face of Christ and say, “I do not need you.” But we do need Him! More than air, more than bread, more than water—we need Christ!
A Final Call to the Faithful
Beloved of God, do you want to be saved? Then come, take up your bed of sin, and walk toward the Church, the gate of mercy! Do not delay, for time is not in your hands. Let us not be like those who wait for the stirring of the water but do not enter. Let us not be like those who hear the call but do not rise. Let us answer as the paralytic answered:
"Yes, Lord!"
And may our Lord, in His boundless mercy, heal us, forgive us, and lead us into His eternal kingdom.
May the name of the Holy God be praised forever and ever in every tongue that He has created, today and always.
May the blessings of God's mother, the virgin, and the cross be upon us.
Amen.
