To comfort the sorrowful—for blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.
We must not only do these things out of obligation but out of love. If we have been healed, it is not so that we may return to sin, but that we may walk in the way of righteousness.
Lest the Disease of the Soul Overtake Us
Beloved, let us not be like the man who was healed but forgot his Healer. Let us not be ungrateful for the grace given to us. For if bodily sickness can be healed, what of the sickness of the soul? There is but one cure faith in Christ, obedience to His commandments, and a life lived in gratitude.
Let us know the One who has saved us.
Let us believe in Him and in the power of His mercy.
Let us walk in His ways, lest we too fall into the sickness of the soul.
May God, who healed the hopeless man of Bethesda, also heal us both in body and in spirit. May He cleanse us from our iniquities, strengthen us in our faith, and guide us in the path of righteousness.
May the name of the Holy God be praised forever and ever in every tongue that He has created, today and always.
May the blessings of God's mother, the virgin, and the cross be upon us.
Amen.
