    Reconciliation With God the Mind

That Is Set on the Flesh Is

Continued👆🏽 Reconciliation with God – The mind that is set on the flesh is at enmity with God (Romans 8:7), but fasting brings reconciliation, just as the people of Nineveh repented with fasting and were delivered from destruction (Jonah 3:1-10). Victory over demons – Our Lord Himself declared that certain demons are cast out only by fasting and prayer (Matthew 17:21). When we fast, we drive away the powers of darkness and strengthen the soul against temptation. Revelation of divine mysteries – The prophet Daniel fasted and was granted divine revelations (Daniel 10:1-3). Those who fast with sincerity are given wisdom and insight into the mysteries of God. Thus, fasting is not merely an abstention from food but a pathway to divine blessings. It removes every barrier between us and God, strengthens our prayers, and purifies our hearts. The True Spirit of Fasting The purpose of fasting is not merely to afflict the body but to lift the soul. If we fast but remain filled with pride, we have fasted in vain. If we deny food but indulge in wrath, we have gained nothing. Let us therefore fast with humility, with prayer, with repentance, with love. Let us not fast like the Pharisee, who boasted before God, saying, “I fast twice a week” (Luke 18:12), but let us fast with the spirit of the tax collector, who, in humility, beat his breast and cried out, “God, have mercy on me, a sinner!” (Luke 18:13). For the Lord does not desire fasting that is filled with self-righteousness but fasting that is filled with repentance. Beloved brethren, if we fast with a pure heart, if we abstain not only from food but from sin, if we humble ourselves before God, then our fasting shall be acceptable in His sight. And in the day of His coming, we shall rejoice with the saints and feast at the heavenly banquet, where there is no hunger, no thirst, but only the eternal joy of being in the presence of the Lord. Let us therefore embrace the true fast, that we may inherit the true blessing. May the name of the Holy God be praised forever and ever in every tongue that He has created, today and always. May the blessings of God's mother, the virgin, and the cross be upon us. Amen. © John's Repentance Reach out to us on our social media platforms and share it with your friends: https://linktr.ee/johnsrepentance
