About #Adam and #Eve
Question: Hello, my non-Orthodox family asked me these questions today. If Adam and Eve are the ancestors of all of us, does this mean that their children had sexual relations with their relatives?
✍️Answer:- There is no question that Adam and Eve are the ancestors of all of us. The origin of all human beings is Adam, and there is no one other than Adam. God created Adam in His image and His likeness first, and then Eve, so Adam and Eve are the origins of creation, the descendants of all of us. They are origins, meaning they are the first creations.
Indeed, the children of Adam and Eve are married to each other. This is not breaking the relationship. There are three laws: the first one is called "the heart of the law (Law of Conscience), also known as the age of the law." This is the era when books were not written. It is the age from Adam to Moses when there was no law that said relatives should not marry each other. Books were not written, which means that their law is in their hearts so it was given to them to not steal, not to kill, but books were not written in this era.
The second law is the "Constitution of the Torah or the Law of Moses". It is from Moses to the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. It is the time when books were written.
The third is called the "Constitutional Gospel", which is from the time our Lord was born to the present time. Therefore, in the time when Adam and Eve were, the law was in the heart and there were no laws written in books, and it was a time when there was no other person. Their first children are "Cain and Cain's twin Lud". Next to Cain are "Abel and his twin Akelema."
After Adam and Eve gave birth to their children, Adam said to Eve, "Eve, your children have reached the age of marriage." Then it was revealed to Adam that when he was making a law in the Torah, in the days of Moses, that a relative should not marry a relative would be written. This shows us that in the future there will be a law that would state one should not marry a relative.
Adam then said it was better for Cain's twin to marry Abel than to marry her own twin. He did this because, in Adam's opinion, their relationship was a bit distant. Similarly, he thought that it would be better for Abel's twin to marry Cain than to marry her twin. Cain’s twin sister, Lud, looked like Eve and was good-looking unlike Abel’s twin, Akelema, and Cain was not happy about marrying Akelema and was disappointed.
He questioned, why should Abel marry my beautiful sister? Why should I marry Abel’s twin, who is not beautiful in appearance? He said he was disappointed. Adam said to him, this is not to happen, he should not marry his own sister, it will be annulled.
After that, they offered a sacrifice. Abel offered the sacrifice to God, which was a lamb that had no horns and no claws. Cain prepared a sacrifice saying 'God will not eat my sacrifice, whether he accepted it or not.' God looked at Abel's sacrifice. The look shows that he accepted Abel’s offerings, but he did not look at Cain and his sacrifice, which means that he did not accept it.
Cain was very angry because God accepted Abel's sacrifice and he felt that his father Adam and God were unfair to him. He thought to himself "who can be evil like me?" But when he brought it out, Satan appeared to him and said to him, "What happened to you?" Cain replied, "my brother took the wife that was right for me, and my father gave it to Abel. God accepted his sacrifice, but he did not accept mine." Satan said, "What bothers you about this? Call Abel to the field and ask him to go drink water and kill him and you can have both." Driven by jealousy, Cain killed his brother Abel.
When Adam married his sons, as we said above, he gave Abel's twin to Cain and Cain's twin to Abel. This means that he separated them and did not make them marry each other. This shows us that one should not marry a relative.
1. What is #Religion?
2. Who is the Ethiopian #Orthodox Tewahedo religion?
"It was necessary for me to write to you, exhorting you to fight for the religion that was given to the saints once and for all." Jude 1:3
Dear and respected members who follow the orthodox education and spiritual service that we convey on the John's Repentance website; Based on the question mentioned in the title, we have sent you the following important lesson, so we entrust you to read and learn from it.
"Religion" means: It is the lens of conscience through which we distinguish between the creator and the creature, righteousness and condemnation, light and darkness, life and death, heaven and hell. Religion is the true way to know and reach the abstract God (Creator) that we cannot see with our fleshy eyes and can not touch with our fleshy hands.
The basis of religion is to acknowledge the Almighty Creator. Accepting your creator begins with believing in being a creature. Because there is no one who says that I was created by myself. If a person believes that he is created, then he begins to search for the creator of this world because he believes that he has a creator. Religion is the foundation of everything, and the reason we say it is a deep and subtle way is because we believe in the existence of an invisible and intangible God. The bundle is our path of light and our door of righteousness to accept God whom we worship with all our hearts and travel to the end of the world. An example of this is to look at our father Abraham’s effort to find the creator, the story is in the bible.
The Bible uses the words faith, foundation, and way interchangeably for the word religion.. The Bible uses the words faith, foundation, and way interchangeably for the word religion.
1/ Faith
The word faith describes accepting, trusting, and acting in response to what you believe. When St. Paul explained it in terms of receiving faith, he said, "Faith is the assurance of things we hope for and the explanation of things we do not see." He said that religion is a special grace through which we can see the subtle works of God, whom we cannot see with our eyes (Hebrews 11:1).
When St. Paul explains that faith is not only accepting, but also trusting or obeying, he also mentions the story of Abraham: Although Abraham received the promise that 'in Isaac, your seed will be called'; But when he was tempted, he offered his only son Isaac in faith. This explains that faith does not end only by saying that we believe, but also by doing what we believe (Hebrews 11:17-18).
In his message, the apostle Saint James explained that faith is not only believing (accepting) but also trusting (manifesting it by works): "My brothers, what good is it if there is a man who claims to have faith but has no works (conduct)?" Can his faith save him?" he said. (John 2:14)
Also, the apostle Saint James said, "You believe that God is one, and you do good, and the demons believe and tremble." (Jas 2:19, Mar 3:11) As we understand from this, the devil also believes, he trembles but has no good works. Therefore, not all faiths are considered religions. A Christian who does not do good while keeping God's law and order should not be called by God's name.
2/ Road (way)
Religion is God's revelation to mankind. In the prophet Hosea, "Who is wise who understands this thing, who understands it? God's way is upright, and the righteous walk in it, but the transgressors fall into it." He explained religion as "the way of God". Also, Hosea 14:9 and "But listen to my word, I am God." I will be your people, and you will be my people, so that it may be good for you, walk in all the ways I have commanded you. Er. 7:23 The apostle Saint James explains that religion is the way by saying, "He who turns a sinner from his wrong way may save his soul from death and erase the multitude of sins."
