    Let Husbands and Wives Remember

That Love Is Not Merely a Feeling

Continued ☝🏽 Let husbands and wives remember that love is not merely a feeling but a virtue, an action, a choice made daily. Love calls for patience in times of conflict, kindness in times of distress, and endurance when trials arise. A Christian couple does not hastily seek separation, nor do they harbor resentment, but rather, they seek understanding and reconciliation, just as Christ reconciled the Church unto Himself. Marriage as a Fortress of Faith A household built upon the Word of God stands firm against the storms of life. Our Lord has declared: “Everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock” (Matthew 7:24-25). So too must a Christian marriage be built upon the unshakable foundation of God’s truth. A husband and wife who live by Scripture will find that their marriage is strengthened, their love deepened, and their trials overcome by the power of divine grace. The Sacredness of the Marriage Bed Marriage is honorable, and the marriage bed is undefiled. This is a sacred union, meant to be kept pure and holy. The body of the husband belongs to the wife, and the body of the wife belongs to the husband. To defile this bond through infidelity is a grievous sin, for it is a rejection of the trust and love that God has ordained between them. Let them remain faithful to one another, guarding their hearts from temptation and their eyes from wandering, for “the two shall become one flesh” (Mark 10:8). Conclusion: The Glory of Christian Marriage Brethren, let us hold marriage in honor, recognizing it as a divine gift, a path to sanctification, and a mirror of Christ’s love for His Church. Let husbands cherish their wives as Christ cherishes His bride, and let wives honor their husbands as the Church honors the Lord. In doing so, they shall be a light to the world, a testimony of God’s grace, and an example of the beauty that is found in holy matrimony. May the ever-giving Lord bless all Christian marriages, strengthening them in faith, love, and perseverance. May the Virgin Mother intercede for all families, and may the Glorious Cross be their shelter and stronghold in all seasons of life. May the name of the Holy God be praised forever and ever in every tongue that He has created, today and always. May the blessings of God's mother, the virgin, and the cross be upon us.
