    Honoring God Question What Does

It Mean to Honor the Lord Practically

    #honoring
About #Honoring God Question፦ What does it mean to honor the Lord practically In the Bible it says “And fear none other but Him.” Proverbs chapter 7. “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, And the counsel of saints is understanding; For to know the law is characteristic of a good mind” Proverbs 9: 10. How do we stop fearing other things in life? Answer፦ Peace be upon you, child of God.  It brings me great joy that you seek to honor the Lord and grow in the wisdom of His ways. You have touched upon a profound truth: the fear of the Lord is indeed the beginning of wisdom, the very foundation upon which a life pleasing to God is built.  When we speak of "fear" in this context, we do not speak of terror or dread. Rather, it is a profound reverence, an awe-inspiring awareness of His boundless love, His perfect justice, and His almighty power. Like a child who trusts completely in a loving parent,  this holy fear casts out all other fears. Proverbs reminds us, “The fear of the Lord is a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death” (Proverbs 14:27).  When our hearts are anchored in Him, the anxieties of this world lose their grip. We find courage to face any challenge, knowing that our God is with us. Now, to answer your question about practically honoring the Lord and overcoming fear: Embrace His commandments.  The Psalmist beautifully proclaims, “In keeping thy testimonies have I found great reward”* (Psalm 119:165).  When we strive to live according to His will, we experience the peace that surpasses all understanding. This peace is the antidote to fear, for it assures us of His constant presence. Prayer and Fasting:  These are the cornerstones of our faith.  Through prayer, we commune with the Almighty, laying our burdens at His feet and receiving His strength. Fasting, a form of self-denial, helps us detach from worldly desires and focus on the spiritual. Seek the Sacraments:  Partake regularly of the Eucharist, receiving the very Body and Blood of our Lord, Jesus Christ. Through this holy mystery, we are united with Him and strengthened in our journey. Study the Scriptures:  Immerse yourself in the Holy Gospels and the writings of the Church Fathers.  Their wisdom, illuminated by the Holy Spirit, will guide your steps and nourish your soul. Practice Charity:  As our Lord taught us, “Love thy neighbor as thyself”* (Matthew 22:39). When we extend love and compassion to others, we reflect the love of God in the world and find true joy. Remember, my child, this is a lifelong journey, not a destination. There will be times of struggle and doubt, but do not lose heart.  Cling to the words of St. John Chrysostom, who reminds us: “No sin is so great as to overcome the love of God.” If you wish to delve deeper into these matters, I encourage you to seek the guidance of your spiritual father or a trusted elder in your community. They can offer personalized counsel and support on your path. May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you always.  Please do not hesitate to share your burdens and joys with me. I am here to listen and offer guidance on your spiritual journey. May the name of the Holy God be praised forever and ever in every tongue that He has created, today and always. May the blessings of God's mother, the virgin, and the cross be upon us. Amen. © John's Repentance Reach out to us on our social media platforms and share it with your friends: https://linktr.ee/johnsrepentance
