Since it is impossible for a person to be free from sin, repentance is done in the morning and in the evening if needed, but it is not delayed so we don't accumulate sin. The righteousness or sin that a person does every day is written in God's record. If we repent for our sin to our father of confession and wash it with tears of repentance, it will be destroyed. Today, we give the pitty excuse that we are ashamed to tell the priest, but we don't know when we will be taken away. We will be taken away suddenly and may hear the word " go away from me" on judgment day. Because if we die while we are in sin and not repenting, we will suffer in the after life. Therefore, we must realize that living in sin while being subject to sin is a shame for the soul.
In addition to this, not only will we lose the death of our soul by not repenting, but even when we live on earth, our fasting and prayers will not be fruitful without repentance. Fasting or any spiritual service is a practice period where we try to get closer to God. Sin pushes us out of this life. Therefore, in order to get closer to God, one should quickly remove sin through repentance. During fasting, just as the body is forbidden from food, the soul is also forbidden from all earthly and worldly desires. For this we return to God through repentance; And God will return to us. "Behold, the hand of God is not shortened from saving, nor his ear deaf from hearing, but your iniquity has separated between you and your God, and your sin has hidden his face from you." (Isa 59:1:2) Therefore, food served on a beautiful and polished table will make me happy, fasting and prayer done with repentance and a clean and polished body will bring reward. "Return to me and I will return to you" (Mal 3:7), God called his people to repentance through his prophets.
