    The Location of Heaven Question

Someone Asked Today if Heaven Is On

    #heaven
About the location of #heaven Question፦ Someone asked today if heaven is on earth or in the sky? They mean 1.if it's a physical place 2.where it is and 3. where it will be when Christ returns I explained to them about the significance of the church as heaven on earth and about the meaning of the divine liturgy but was hoping to obatin more information so that I can share with them I also explained to them about Paradise where mankind was to dwell in before Adam and Eve were cast out and that earth was not our original dwelling place We were to dwell in Paradise Hope this give more context about the question Answer፦ Beloved in Christ, The question you pose touches on deep mysteries that the Church has contemplated through the ages. Heaven, as we understand it in the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church, transcends our earthly concepts of space and location. It is not a physical place we can pinpoint within our universe, nor is it confined by earthly dimensions. St. John Chrysostomos, in his homilies, eloquently describes Heaven as the abode of God, angels, and the righteous. It is a state of being in perfect communion with the Divine, a place where suffering, sorrow, and death do not enter. "For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ" (Philippians 3:20). This Scripture teaches us that our true citizenship and our ultimate hope and conversation are in Heaven, directing us to live righteously in anticipation of Christ’s return. Moreover, the divine liturgy allows us to partake in the heavenly worship here on earth, a foretaste of the eternal joy that awaits the faithful. In it, we join the angels in ceaseless praise and worship, making the Church a 'Heaven on earth.' As for the future, when Christ returns, the Scriptures reveal that there will be a new Heaven and a new Earth where righteousness dwells (Revelation 21:1). This signifies a transformation of our current existence into a divine and eternal state where Heaven and Earth are united under Christ’s eternal kingship. Thus, to answer your query: Heaven is neither merely on earth nor in the sky but a divine reality beyond our full understanding now, and it will be revealed in its full glory upon the Second Coming of our Lord. What steps will you take to deepen your understanding of this divine reality and prepare for the life in the world to come? May the name of the Holy God be praised forever and ever in every tongue that He has created, today and always. May the blessings of God's mother, the virgin, and the cross be upon us. Amen. © John's Repentance Reach out to us on our social media platforms and share it with your friends: https://linktr.ee/johnsrepentance
