    👆 Indeed, the Ascension of

Our Lord Was Foretold by the Prophets

(Continued) 👆 Indeed, the Ascension of our Lord was foretold by the prophets. The Psalms proclaim, "You have taken captives and ascended" (Psalm 68:18) and "God has ascended amid shouts of joy, the Lord amid the sounding of trumpets" (Psalm 47:5). In the Holy Scriptures, our Lord Himself reveals, "In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you" (John 14:2). The evangelists and apostles also bear witness to the Ascension, recording that "after speaking to them, the Lord Jesus was taken up into heaven and he sat at the right hand of God" (Mark 16:19, Luke 24:51-52). As they watched, a cloud enveloped Him and received Him from their sight (Acts 1:9-11). Furthermore, the secret of imitating God is revealed in His glorious Ascension—He was incarnate, justified by the Spirit, seen by angels, preached to the Gentiles, believed in throughout the world, and ultimately ascended in majestic glory (1 Timothy 3:16). The early Church Fathers, the custodians of our sacred tradition, expounded upon the Ascension of our Lord. Their teachings and exegesis illuminate the depths of this profound mystery. They bestowed upon us invaluable insights into the divine economy of salvation, helping us to grasp the significance of Christ's Ascension and its impact on our lives. May the contemplation of our Lord's Ascension deepen our understanding of His divine nature and His salvific work. Let us rejoice in the glorification of our human nature through union with the divine. And as we eagerly anticipate His promised return, may we strive to imitate His virtues and partake in His heavenly kingdom. Amen. May the name of the Holy God be praised forever and ever in every tongue that He has created, today and always. May the blessings of God's mother, the virgin, and the cross be upon us. Amen. © John's Repentance Reach out to us on our social media platforms and share it with your friends: https://linktr.ee/johnsrepentance
