    The First Wednesday of Pascha

in Orthodox Christianity the Fourth Day After

    #wednesday
    #pascha
The first #Wednesday of #Pascha In Orthodox Christianity, the fourth day after the resurrection of Jesus Christ is known as "Lazarus" Wednesday. It is called "Lazarus" Wednesday to commemorate the resurrection of Lazarus, who was raised from the dead by Jesus Christ four days after his burial. Lazarus means "God has helped us," and there are three Lazaruses mentioned in the Bible. The first is Aaron's grandson in Exodus 6:23, the second is the poor man in a parable told by Jesus in Luke 16:20, and the third is Lazarus, the brother of Martha and Mary, whom Jesus raised from the dead as recounted in John 11:38. On this day, the Orthodox Church teaches and remembers the miracle of Jesus raising Lazarus from the dead on the fourth day. When Lazarus became sick, his sisters sent word to Jesus, "Lord, the one you love is sick." Jesus replied, "This sickness will not end in death. No, it is for God's glory so that God's Son may be glorified through it" (John 11:3-4). When Jesus arrived in Bethany, Lazarus had already been dead for four days. Martha greeted Jesus and said, "Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died" (John 11:21). But Jesus told her, "I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die" (John 11:25-26). Therefore, on the fourth day after Easter, we celebrate the resurrection of Lazarus and reflect on the promise of eternal life through faith in Jesus Christ. As the Apostle Paul wrote, "But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep. For since death came through a man, the resurrection of the dead comes also through a man. For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive" (1 Corinthians 15:20-22). We believe that true life is found in living according to God's commandments and having a pure conscience. Our deeds, whether good or bad, have an impact on our soul, and we must strive to do what is right and avoid sin. May the resurrection of Lazarus remind us of the hope we have in Jesus Christ and inspire us to live a life pleasing to God. May the name of the Holy God be praised forever and ever in every tongue that He has created, today and always. May the blessings of God's mother, the virgin, and the cross be upon us. Amen. © John's Repentance Please follow our Telegram group every day and share it with your friends: https://t.me/orthodoxQnAs
