About the #New_Year #2024
My Beloved in Christ,
As we stand at the threshold of the New Year 2024, let us embrace it with a heart full of hope and a spirit eager for renewal. In the spirit of the Orthodox tradition, rather than a lengthy discourse, I offer you a simple yet profound lesson drawn from the depths of our faith.
Reflect upon the words of St. Paul in Ephesians 5:16, "Making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil." This New Year, let us focus on the sacredness of time. Each moment is a precious gift from God, an opportunity for growth, for love, for repentance, and for deepening our communion with Him.
In our fast-paced, modern world, it is easy to become entangled in the transient and lose sight of the eternal. As an Orthodox Christian, strive to see each day as a chance to draw nearer to God. Engage in daily prayer, immerse yourself in the Holy Scriptures, and partake in the sacramental life of the Church. This is the path to true transformation.
Also, consider finding a spiritual father or mother. In the Orthodox tradition, a spiritual guide is invaluable for navigating the spiritual journey. They provide wisdom, encouragement, and a living example of Christ-like humility and love.
This New Year, let your resolution be to live each day in the presence of God, seeking His will and opening your heart to His transformative grace.
As you embark on this journey, ask yourself: "How can I make each day a step closer to God, making the most of the time He has blessed me with?"
May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you in this New Year.
In Christ's Love.
May the name of the Holy God be praised forever and ever in every tongue that He has created, today and always.
May the blessings of The Virgin, and the cross be upon us. Amen.
