The #Five #Pillar #Mysteries Dear and respected members who follow the orthodox education and spiritual service that we convey on the John's Repentance page;  Today,  we hereby sent you the following basic religion lesson which we prepared in simple way of discription so that everybody can easily understand it; Hence, we entrust you to read and learn from it. In Orthodoxy, the Five Pillars of Mysteries are called absolute dogmas. Apostle St. Paul explained that there are five pillars of truth and doctrine of salvation in the church. 1 Cor 14:19 The five pillar mysteries are: - 1. Mystery of Trinity: This is where we learn the unity and trinity of the Holy Trinity. Holy Trinity a special and unique form of Trinity and it means three in One, One in three. 2. Mystery of Incarnation: This is where we learn the mystery of God becoming human. (God came down to us from the heavens and saved us, he became a man and was born from Mary, this mystery is the mystery of God becoming a man.) 3. Mystery of Baptism: This is where we learn about the baptism of our Lord Jesus Christ and the mystery of being reborn from God through baptism. Therefore, the sacrement of baptism in which we are born of water and the Spirit and receive the sonship of God is called the second birth. In Ephesians chapter four, it is written that baptism is one. 4. Mystery of Eucharistic: It is where we learn about the fact that the Holy Body of Jesus Christ and His Precious Blood are eternal life. Drink my blood and eat my flesh, our Lord Jesus Christ told us in his gospel that we must all receive the Holy Communion in order to have eternal life. 5. The Mystery of Resurrection (Eternal Life): This is where we learn about the second coming (the end of the world) and the resurrection of the dead. We believe in the resurrection of the dead, that when our Lord Jesus Christ comes, we will rise from the dead on the last day. In the below paragraphs, we will take a closer look to briefly explain about each of the Five Pillars Mysteries፦ 1. Mystery of Trinity The Mystery of Trinity is the first among the five pillars of mysteries at our Orthodox Church. Because it is the most fundamental of all Christian dogmas; and it is the basis for our salvation. It is impossible to comprehend the fundamental teachings of the Holy Bible in the absence of a clear understanding about the Mystery of Holy Trinity. This mystery is part and parcel of each and every spiritual life and service. The word is derived from a Geez word and it means threeness. This concerns the unity and trinity of the living God. God is one God. In unity, His name is called Creator, Lord, God, etc. In trinity, the name is called the Holy Trinity. St. Abune Guebre Menfes Kidus Beloved members of John's Repentance page, today is the annual feast of our holy father and hence let us reflect on his life. In the annals of spiritual history, few shine as luminously as the blessed St. Abune Guebre Menfes Kidus of the Ethiopian Orthodox Church. His life, radiant with divine encounters and steadfast devotion, is a testament to the profound relationship between God and man, revealing a tale of grace, perseverance, and unyielding faith. Let us embark on a journey to understand the celestial narratives of this saint, seeking enlightenment and inspiration in every fold of his story. From a tender age, Heaven chose him. At merely three years, divine intervention manifested when the messenger of God, Saint Gabriel, spirited the young Guebre to a sanctuary. There, under the tutelage of Father Zemed Berhan, he drank deeply from the fountain of Holy Scriptures, imbibing the wisdom of the Old Testament and the teachings of the Church. His soul was carved, polished, and prepared for a life dedicated to the Divine. This preparation culminated in his priestly consecration, an anointment that sent him to the arid desert, where solitude and rigorous spiritual discipline became his companions. There, he became an embodiment of asceticism, forsaking even the meagerest worldly comforts, relying solely on the nourishment of prayer and divine communion. In that desolation, a celestial decree was ordained: Guebre Menfes Kidus would remain hidden from the world, only to be recognized by those who mirrored his sanctity. His existence was not to be an ordinary one; he would soar on chariots of light, converse with the Divine Trinity, and be beckoned to the great land of Ethiopia to liberate souls ensnared by darkness. The journey was no ordinary one. Accompanied by a heavenly entourage of lions, tigers, and angels led by Saint Gabriel, Guebre Menfes Kidus traveled the ethereal path. But upon witnessing the sins of the Ethiopian people, his heart overflowed with compassion, leading to a self-imposed exile in the sea for forty days and nights. His sacrifice, a testament of love for mankind, resulted in a divine promise: Mercy would shine upon all who invoked his name. His trials did not end here. Sun and wilderness became his sanctuaries; angels his solace in moments of profound spiritual warfare. From the blinding light of divine mysteries to confronting the demonic forces threatening his very essence, he emerged triumphant through divine intervention, always. The tale of Guebre Menfes Kidus is not merely a saga of victories but also one of profound humility and boundless love. Even as he displayed divine might before the defiant king of Arabia, he pleaded for the salvation of the very enemies who sought his life. His heart, so attuned to God's love, saw beyond earthly enmities, recognizing the intrinsic worth of every soul. In the twilight of his life, Guebre Menfes Kidus embraced a final act of supreme asceticism, suspending himself from a cliff for three decades, enduring unimaginable torment. Yet, in his final moments, the Savior Himself appeared, offering eternal blessings to those who would remember this blessed saint. His life, a beacon spanning 562 years, reminds us of the immense potential within every soul to transcend worldly fetters, seeking the Divine. Through trials, sacrifices, and miracles, St. Abune Guebre Menfes Kidus exemplifies a faith that can move mountains and a love that transcends time. Let us, the faithful, draw inspiration from his legacy. May we too, with unwavering faith, embark on our own spiritual quests, and in the luminous path of St. Abune Guebre Menfes Kidus, find our way to the Divine embrace. Through his intercession, may the blessings of the Holy Trinity be with us all, now and forever. Amen. May the name of the Holy God be praised forever and ever in every tongue that He has created, today and always. © John's Repentance Reach out to us on our social media platforms and share it with your friends: https://linktr.ee/johnsrepentance
