    The Holiness of the Virgin

Mary Dear Members of John's Repentance

    #mary
About the holiness of the Virgin #Mary Dear members of John's Repentance page, today is the monthly feast if our Lady the Virgin Mary. Hence we send you a lesson about her purity sanctity and holiness so you may read partake from the day's blessings. We hence entrust you to read it and see how you can apply the learnings to your life. The Blessed Virgin Mary, our most Holy Lady, emerged from the lineage of Adam, as did all of humanity, comprising of soul and body. However, in terms of sanctity and honor, she is held higher not only than humans, but also than the holy angels. The celestial beings, despite possessing the freedom to choose between sin and virtue, are not burdened with human flesh and thus, are not perturbed by the sins committed in the flesh. Nonetheless, they stand steadfast in their divine service. Partially bearing the divine throne, some kneel before it, veiling their faces with two of their wings, soaring from one horizon to another with the remaining pair (Isaiah 6:2-3). In contrast, the Holy Virgin Mary, before whom angels stood in reverence, veiling their faces, not only bore the divine throne within her womb for nine months and five days but also embraced the Lord in her arms. She comforted Him, nourished Him with the milk from her breasts, creating an unparalleled image of divine maternity. The eternal Lord, desiring to save mankind, became incarnate. He chose to dwell in the Virgin's womb, to feed on her milk, referring to the Holy Virgin Mary as His mother. She fully embodied this divine motherhood, offering her everything to her Child. She bore Him in a humble cave in Bethlehem, a sight never seen even for the progeny of kings born in grand palaces. She listened to the angels' harmonious hymns, witnessed the shepherd's joy, perceived the animals' adoration, and received gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh from the magi. Yet, she remained humble and modest, escaping to Egypt when Herod sought her Child's life. She endured insults, hunger, and thirst for the sake of her divine Son. She was not only in Bethlehem to hear the angels' songs, but also in Calvary to witness her Son's passion. When invited to the wedding feast at Cana, she brought her Son along, and on the Cross, He named His beloved disciple as her son. Is there a greater honor than being chosen as the Creator's mother? Is there a higher sanctity? Yet, she did not grow prideful. When the angel brought her the news of her divine maternity, she responded with humility, "Behold, I am the handmaid of the Lord." (Luke 1:38). She did not boast nor demand recognition. Thus, who among the creatures can surpass this holy mother in honor, in nearness to God? She is referred to as the Holy of Holies, a title bestowed upon the inner sanctuary of the Temple, where God Himself resided. Yet, even this title seems insufficient to express her grandeur. Our human language is indeed limited to encapsulate her exceptional sanctity and honor. She merits much more than what we can express. So, let us honor the Holy Virgin Mary, not merely because she is the Mother of God, but also for her humility, her obedience to God's will, and her unwavering faith. As we meditate upon her life and virtues, let us strive to emulate her and draw closer to her divine Son, our Lord Jesus Christ. May the name of the Holy God be praised forever and ever in every tongue that He has created, today and always. May the blessings of God's mother, the virgin, and the cross be upon us. Amen.
