From the very beginning, when the angels beheld her on their wings, she was entrusted with the divine guardianship, as proclaimed by the messenger Gabriel, who was appointed to protect her. Recognizing that she did not belong to this world, our Lady departed from her parental home, accompanied by her spiritual kinsfolk and angelic hosts. The Lord, who sought out Adam when he wandered away from his home and lost communion with God, is now reunited with him through his mother. Thus, she embarked on a journey to Mount Lebanon, the revered land where her ancestors had received visions. For she is the promised Bride of Lebanon, foretold to be born in a lion's den beneath the celestial heights of the Lebanese mountains.
Satan, witnessing these divine interventions, persisted in his enmity. He did not rest, for he comprehended that if such wonders could occur before her birth, the magnitude of her impact upon the world after her birth would be unparalleled. He gathered the Jewish armies, instigating hostility against Hannah and Joachim. Even in her mother's womb, the Virgin Mary was not afforded a moment of peace. She had already struck at Satan's core, displaying her profound capabilities. Indeed, as written in the great book, Jeremiah declares, "Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you; before you were born, I sanctified you" (Jeremiah 1:5).
The initial revelation of our Lady to the angels, accompanied by their protective wings, served as a testament to her divine calling. Recognizing that she did not belong to this world, she departed her familial abode, forsaking the transient pleasures of earthly existence. She journeyed to Mount Lebanon, the land of her ancestral visionaries, in fulfillment of the prophecy that proclaimed her as the Bride of Lebanon. The birth of the Virgin Mary, shining more brightly than the sun and surpassing all glory, occurred on a day in May.
On that sacred day, plants blossomed out of season, stones transformed into bread, and the winter months yielded to the approaching season of blessing. It was the time when Christ, the Bread of Life, would grant nourishment to the world, manifesting Himself as the heavenly manna. Indeed, this momentous sign was accompanied by the presence of numerous angelic hosts, descending from heaven to earth, saturating the surroundings with a fragrance indescribable. The tidings of the archangel Gabriel resonated throughout the heavens and spread with exultation, heralding the birth of the Virgin Mary.
