The Apparition of St. #Mary in 1968: A Divine Encounter Beloved members of John's Repentance page, let us delve into the profound and awe-inspiring apparition of our beloved Lady, St. Mary, which occurred on this day in the blessed year of 1968. The accounts of this miraculous event bring forth valuable lessons and spiritual insights that will undoubtedly enrich our lives. Like the holy fathers before us, we must seek the guidance of God as we explore the splendor and significance of the apparition, imploring His divine assistance to shed light upon this extraordinary encounter with our beloved Mother. The Prophecy and Significance of St. Mary: In the sacred Psalms, the prophet David, God's chosen servant, foretold that both the nobles of heaven and the nations of the earth would beseech and swear to see the radiant face of our beloved Lady. Throughout history, every prophet and apostle has spoken of St. Mary, affirming her exalted position and the divine grace bestowed upon her. Let us, therefore, beseech the same God who aided them to grant us understanding and illumination in our exploration of this momentous event. The Annual Festivals of St. Mary: Our Lady, St. Mary, is honored throughout the year with various festivals and celebrations. Let us focus on the significant annual occasions that commemorate her extraordinary life. May 9th marks the anniversary of the Holy Virgin Mary's birth, followed by May 29th, when she manifested herself to both Gentiles and Christians. On June 28th, her divine Son descended to establish her abode, signifying a momentous day of celebration. Furthermore, August 22nd commemorates the day of her incarnation, while December 13th marks her entrance into the temple. On January 30th, we remember the day of our Lady's rest, and on February 24th, the promise of mercy and salvation was accepted. Let us honor these festivals with reverence and gratitude, as we partake in the richness of our faith. The Power of Intercession: Hannah and Jacob, who had experienced the heart-wrenching loss of a child, persevered in their faith, beseeching God with unwavering devotion. Their plea was answered, and the Virgin Mary, the mother of God, was given to them as a treasure beyond compare—a treasure that would alleviate not only their own poverty but also the poverty of the entire world. The Virgin Mary's Role in Christianity: Dear brethren, we must comprehend the immense significance of the Virgin Mary in our Christian faith. She is the Mother of God, above all creation and below the Creator Himself. Our Lord Jesus Christ promised her, during their exile in Egypt, that a church would be erected in her name on the very site where we stand today. The fulfillment of this prophecy is a testament to God's faithfulness and a symbol of the Virgin Mary's unparalleled intercession. The Blessing and Grace of St. Mary: When the Virgin Mary blesses us, dear brethren, it is not a mere utterance of goodwill or forgiveness. Rather, her blessings carry the power of divine grace, enriching our lives and bringing forth spiritual abundance. Although the Bible does not explicitly speak of her blessings, we acknowledge her as the vessel of God's grace and mercy. Just as she interceded for the wedding guests at Cana, turning water into wine, she intercedes for us, transforming our lives and granting us spiritual abundance. About the Holy Family's entrance into Egypt In this lesson, we will explore the remarkable journey of the Holy Family's entrance into Egypt, a period marked by persecution, suffering, and divine intervention. The experiences of the Virgin Mary, Joseph, and their son Jesus provide valuable lessons of faith, resilience, and the unwavering love of God. Through their trials, they demonstrate the power of trust and the triumph of good over evil. Their story serves as an inspiration for us to persevere in the face of adversity and trust in God's providence. 1. The Persecution of the Holy Family: The Holy Family, including the Virgin Mary, Joseph, and the young Jesus, faced persecution from the moment of their entry into this world. Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, came to restore humanity to its former glory and reconcile it with God. Yet, from infancy, Jesus and his family encountered hardships and suffering. The Virgin Mary, filled with love and devotion, endured hunger, thirst, and sorrow for the sake of her beloved son. She willingly embraced the challenges, knowing that they were part of God's plan for their eternal safety. 2. The Faithful Devotion of the Virgin Mary: As we examine the history of the Holy Family, we discover the profound faith and devotion of the Virgin Mary. Even at a young age, she dedicated herself to serving in the house of God, choosing a life of piety and prayer. When she conceived Jesus through the Holy Spirit's intervention, she faced confusion and doubt from her husband Joseph. However, she never wavered in her trust in God's plan. Her unwavering faith and purity of heart were evident when she declared, "God knows that I am pure; it is God who has done this." 3. Divine Intervention and Protection: Throughout their journey, the Holy Family encountered numerous trials and dangers. From the flight to Egypt to escape Herod's wrath to the challenges faced in different lands, they relied on God's guidance and protection. Angels appeared in dreams, warning Joseph and providing guidance. The earth opened up to swallow idols in Egypt, demonstrating God's power. Divine intervention rescued Joseph from brutal beatings, and the Virgin Mary performed miracles to protect herself and her family. 4. Lessons of Perseverance and Trust: The Holy Family's journey teaches us valuable lessons about perseverance and trust in God's plan. Despite the hardships they faced, they never lost hope or doubted God's presence in their lives. Their unwavering faith enabled them to endure persecution and overcome challenges. We learn from them the importance of relying on God during difficult times and trusting that He will provide the strength and guidance needed to navigate the trials of life. 5. The Transformative Power of Love: Above all, the story of the Holy Family highlights the transformative power of love. The Virgin Mary's love for her son and her unwavering commitment to God's plan demonstrate the selflessness and sacrificial nature of true love. Through her example, we are reminded of the immense love God has for each one of us and how we, too, can express that love through our actions and devotion. The story of the Holy Family's entrance to Egypt serves as a testament to the power of faith, resilience, and divine protection. The Virgin Mary, Joseph, and Jesus faced immense challenges but remained steadfast in their trust in God. Their journey teaches us to persevere in the face of adversity, to have faith in God's plan, and to embody the transformative power of love. By following their example, we can find solace, strength, and hope in our own lives, knowing that God is always with us, guiding and protecting us through the darkest of times. May the name of the Holy God be praised forever and ever in every tongue that He has created, today and always. May the blessings of God's mother, the virgin, and the cross be upon us.
